THE Leukaemia Foundation is calling out to the generous people in the community to please come forward and donate their time by becoming a Leukaemia Foundation Transport Volunteer.
As a volunteer driver, you will help the Leukaemia Foundation transport people living with blood cancer to and from their hospital appointments.
Our Transport Program operates Monday to Friday and a car will be provided by the Foundation. We are currently looking for community-minded drivers for our services based in Artarmon, Westmead, Wollongong, Coffs Harbour, Central Coast and the ACT.
“Our volunteer drivers are an invaluable part of this service. For those who have been diagnosed with blood cancer or a related blood disorder, this can mean having to go for treatments and appointments several times a week.
“By having the generous support of our dedicated volunteer drivers, it takes away the logistical stresses for all involved. This way those diagnosed can focus on the most important thing – getting better,” Snezana Djordjevic, Blood Cancer Support Manager of New South Wales/ACT, said.
The Leukaemia Foundation is committed to supporting and recognising the work of our volunteers. Just a day a week would make a world of difference to the people we support through the transport program.
