Red Cross partners with Melbourne Marathon

As part of their centenary celebrations this year, Red Cross will be the official charity partner for this Sunday’s Medibank Melbourne Marathon Festival on October 12.

The Melbourne Marathon Festival is the biggest event on the Melbourne challenge calendar with the City2Sea, and Melbourne Color Run to follow on November 16.

Red Cross Executive Director for Victoria, Toni Aslett hopes a large number of Melbournians will run for Red Cross in the Melbourne Marathon Festival to help raise money for the everyday work of Red Cross.

“Red Cross provides 770,000 breakfasts each year for children who might otherwise go to school hungry, we provide companionship for isolated and elderly people living alone and make daily phone calls to check they’re OK, and we conduct drug and alcohol education for young people all around Australia,” Toni said.
