Help Red Cross frock up for summer

AS Australia starts to swelter Red Cross Shops are calling out for donations of good quality frocks to help them through the long hot summer.

“Our shops are crying out for good quality summer clothing,” Red Cross Shops General Manager, Kate Dear, said.

“Rather than let last year’s summer dresses end up as landfill, why not take them to a Red Cross Shop where they can make a real difference.

“All the proceeds from Red Cross Shops help support the vital, everyday work of Red Cross.

“Red Cross provides 770,000 breakfasts each year for children who might otherwise go to school hungry, we provide companionship for isolated and elderly people living alone and make daily phone calls to check they’re OK.

“There are lots of ways Red Cross helps vulnerable people in our local communities and donating your unwanted frocks to a Red Cross Shop is one way of giving a little back.

“With 150 shops across Australia, there are plenty of places you can drop off your unwanted clothing.

“Don’t be shy, it‘s simple to donate at a Red Cross Shop,” Kate continued. “Just walk in and hand your items across the counter, or place them in the ‘Donate Now’ box at the entrance to each store,” Kate said.
