Cancer Council Victoria has been named as the official charity for the first Electric Run to be held in Melbourne on Saturday, April 12.
The Electric Run is the world’s premier night-time run/walk experience where participants are an integrated part of the show. Featuring immersive ‘lands’ of light and sound that transport people into an electric wonderland, walkers and runners are encouraged to join in by lighting up with glow sticks, LEDs and a bright outfit.
There are two ways to support Cancer Council Victoria through Electric Run: by signing up for Electric Run and setting up a personal fundraising page, or by volunteering to pack and distribute kits to race participants.
Anyone taking part in Electric Run is encouraged to join the fight against cancer by fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria.
Deborah Stringer, Head of Fundraising and Communication Division at Cancer Council Victoria, said almost 30,000 Victorians were diagnosed with cancer every year.
“Cancer Council’s work is more important than ever. The funds raised through Electric Run will help us in our ongoing fight against cancer through our critical research, prevention and support services.”
People can still help without pulling on runners, with more than 180 volunteers required to make the event possible.
